Alexandra Bassil is a second-generation native Miamian of Greek-American descent. She conveys many of her memories of the area while guiding guests through South Beach.Like Christine and Calvin, Alex enjoys showcasing her city. Through her storytelling, tour clients will explore the history of Miami Beach, uncover Art Deco gems and appreciate the efforts to preserve this artistic and cultural area.
For over 10 years she was a volunteer Art Deco district tour guide since graduating in 1999 from Miami Design Preservation League’s tour guide training, and became a certified heritage tour guide in 2006.
In 2006 and 2004 she participated in the Discover Miami Event as a tour guide.
She grew up in Miami and has resided on South Beach for the past 17 years.
Alex is a communications specialist with an MS in Communications from Florida International University and her career spans several industries. She leverages that talent and her passion for saving the Art Deco district by educating visitors and locals alike through the tours.
